Facing one's mortalityOver the last year, my health has deteriorated. Starting work in the city has highlighted just how bad it really has become. I cannot breathe properly anymore. If the air quality is poor, I cannot breathe at all. I persistently cough up mucus and phlegm.I have been taking tests typically intended for 80 year olds with heart failure. Everyone who has seen me has remarked how young I am, how unusual my case is and that these tests are not intended for someone my age. I don't know exactly what to make of this, and I'm not sure I want to know. I don't yet have a diagnosis, but I don't think the outlook is good.I picked up a respiratory infection a fortnight ago. Given that I cannot breathe properly in normal circumstances, you can probably guess how that turned out. Fortunately, I'm back home and I have mostly recovered now.
